Song Zuanzuan, a national first-class actor of the Shanxi Jinju Opera Troupe, was born in 1958 in Guangxing Village, Xichang County, Shanxi Province. She began her artistic journey at the age of 12 when she joined the Jinju Opera Troupe in Xichang County. Influenced by her parents' love for art from a young age, Song has always been passionate about arts and music.
Throughout her career spanning over three decades, Song has continuously explored and innovated upon various art forms and styles. She has won numerous awards in professional evaluations and even received the prestigious Mei Lanfang Award for her outstanding contributions to Chinese theater.
Song's unique vocal style known as "Zuanzuan Qu" is particularly noteworthy. By breaking away from traditional norms and conventions, she brought forth a fresh wave of innovation to Jinju opera singing techniques. Her performances are characterized by their smooth transitions between different notes and rhythms; they are both powerful yet gentle.
