对于许多人来说,学习書寫可能是一件耐心与毅力的工作,但对那些热爱書寫的人來說,它卻是一種享受。一旦沉浸其中,就會發現時間飛逝,不再有空間感覺到寂寞。葉月森就such her own experience of learning calligraphy, from being fascinated by her grandfather's brushwork as a child to becoming a teacher and running her own book garden. She believes that calligraphy is not just about the physical act of writing, but also about the mental journey and the connection with history.
Leafing through old memories, she recalls how she started practicing calligraphy at 16, beginning with Tang Dynasty masterpieces like "颜勤礼碑" by Yan Zhenqing. Her passion for calligraphy continued even after graduation when she became a primary school teacher and class monitor. Despite the demanding schedule and workload, she always found solace in practicing calligraphy during her free time.
In 2010, Leaf went back to school to pursue a degree in Calligraphy at Jinan University on weekends while continuing to work full-time during weekdays. The long hours commuting were exhausting but rewarding as each session brought new progress and excitement.
After graduating from Beijing University's Calligraphy program two years later, Leaf decided to leave public service and establish her own book garden focused on art education and training. This allowed her to focus on what truly mattered – exploring the world of calligraphy without any distractions or tedious tasks.
Today, although Leaf has achieved some success in her artistic pursuits, she recognizes that there is still much more to learn from mentors and study materials within the realm of calligraphic arts. Through continuous practice and reflection upon various techniques across different scripts & layouts unfolds an endless mystery yet beckons me evermore!
