She was awarded the first prize in the small skit competition held by the Henan Province Culture Bureau, Public Security Bureau, and Fire Brigade in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 2001 respectively. She also received the second prize for individual performance at the provincial drama festival five times.
In addition to her outstanding performances on stage, Zhang Yvan was also recognized for her contributions to the development of Chinese theater. In 2005, she won the gold award at the "Red Plum Award" national competition in Henan province. Her achievements did not go unnoticed; she was ranked as one of the top ten most fashionable actors in Henan's theatrical community in 2006.
